Mrs. Marilyn Holder

Marilyn Holder is currently serving as an Assistant Principal at Southampton High School. 

She is from Biloxi, Mississippi, and previously served in the United States Army. She has 14 years of experience in Public Education, including positions as a high school teacher and as an Assistant Principal of Instruction in Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Social Welfare from Winston Salem State University, her Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Salem College, and her administration and supervision credentials from Gardner-Webb University.

Her years in education have allowed her to exemplify positive, professional leadership which has made a difference in the school systems she serves. She exemplified excellence in teaching during her time in the classroom, twice earning recognition as a Teacher of the Year, and seeks to continue effecting positive change for students and school systems in her current capacity as an administrator.

She understands the importance of students’ success and works diligently to ensure students have the opportunity to receive an equal education. She is deeply familiar with the interlocking components of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and fully supports the drive to meet rigorous achievement standards in order to provide students with the preparation they need for stellar success after high school.
