Monday

  • Cut, Sort, Check

    Your child will cut apart and show you the weekly word sort.  Do this on the floor or table.  Do not sort the words for your child.  Have your child read each word out loud as it is sorted.  Once the sort is completed, ask your child "How are these words alike?"

Wednesday

  • Sentences

    Your child reads each word aloud to you and then he/she chooses 8 words to use in 8 sentences to be turned in on Thursday.

Tuesday

  • Writing Sort

    Your child first sorts the words on the floor or table, then writes them down on paper to be turned in on Wednesday.

Thursday

  • Spell Check

    As you call out the words in random order, your child writes them down.  Check and review any misspelled words.  Your child will be tested on these words tomorrow.
