There are many ways for your child to practice writing and recognizing letters, numbers, shapes, and colors throughout your daily routines. Ask your child to identify letters on cereal boxes, in the grocery store, on billboards, and in books as you read together. Give him/her a bar of soap to practice writing letters, numbers, and shapes in the bathtub. Write letters, numbers, and shapes in paint, shaving cream, or by using chalk. Allow him/her to help you sort laundry by color.
