• SCPS/Longwood ITTIP Summer STEM, Robotics & Coding Camps for Rising 4th-7th Graders 2024-25

LONGWOOD Institute for Teaching Through Technology and Innovative Practices: "Transforming Teaching and Learning in PK-12"

    For Parents and Students:

Two STEM and coding-focused summer camps are being offered to Southampton County Public Schools students who were enrolled in SCPS schools in grades 3-6 in the 2024-25 school year.  One camp is offered for rising grades 4-5, and one for rising grades 6-7.

One camp is offered for rising grades 4-5, and one for rising grades 6-7. SCPS transportation to Riverdale Elementary is available. There is no cost to students to participate in this program.

    Times and Dates
The program will run from 9 AM to 1:30 PM each of the seven days of the program.
The rising 4/5 camp will take place on June 23-26, June 30, and July 1-2.
The rising 6/7 camp will take place on July 7-10 and 14-16.

Space is limited to 12-16 students per camp, and students are assigned slots on a first-come, first-serve basis contingent on consideration of several factors (academic performance, disciplinary record, etc.) and consultation with the student's 2024 - 2025 building principal.  Please note that if your child is recommended for regular summer school (due to grades, attendance, etc.), that takes priority over the STEM program.

Also, for parents of students who participated last year, please be aware that the activities are essentially the same as last year (it is the same curriculum, except for one new robotics system which will be replacing the Root Robot section of the rising 4-5 camp).  The rising 4-5 camp has different activities and systems than the rising 6-7 camp, so this does not affect students who were rising 5th graders last year and are rising 6th graders this year.

If your child is interested and available, complete the form below to reserve your child's slot. Please recognize that participating in this program is a commitment; students must be able to attend all seven instructional days of the program at Riverdale Elementary.

Once all of the slots are taken, students will be placed on a waitlist. Families will be notified if their child is selected or waitlisted for the program.
