• The PTA began the year with an energetic kick-off meeting. Attendance
was high, and enthusiasm was evident as we established a Hospitality
Committee with Melissa Cornwell as Chair, Susan Fowler volunteered as
Yearbook Chair, and Shannon Vaughan volunteered as Field Day Chair.

We were excited to share the award NES received for PTA membership for
the previous school year.  After meeting our membership goal of 140 last
year, our goal for 2014-2015 is 150!  We will be working to encourage
all staff to join, and will be encouraging membership throughout the
year for parents and grandparents.  We also need ideas for how Mr.
Ttitsera will celebrate if we reach our goal!

Our annual direct sales fundraiser continues to be a primary contributor
to our funds, and we appreciate all the sales and purchases made by the
students and parents.  Forty percent of each sale goes directly into the
PTA's annual fund.  In addition, we continue to collect Box Tops,
Campbell's Soup can labels, and Farm Fresh receipts at an increasing
rate.  Every little bit helps, so keep them coming!

The PTA has some exciting new goals for the upcoming year, including
establishing the first parts of an agricultural community where students
can collaborate on a project to establish gardens and grow vegetables,
flowers, and herbs.  We also have determined that the playground
equipment is somewhat outdated, and we would like to use some of our
funds to purchase new equipment within the next few years.
