Rawls Museum Arts
Discover wonderful works of art in your own backyard! Rawls displays several exhibitions and offers classes to students of all ages throughout the year. SMS Gifted Art students attend workshops at Rawls once a month. -
Governor's School for the Arts
8th grade students have the opportunity to apply for the Governor's School for the Arts (GSA). GSA students attend classes at Southampton High School in the morning, then attend classes at GSA in the afternoon. To be accepted, students must complete an interview process that includes a portfolio review. For more information about GSA, please see Mrs. Dreibelbis or Mrs. Parker in the guidance office. -
Chrysler Museum of Art
Located in downtown Norfolk, the Chrysler Museum features an extensive collection of art. The Museum's highlight is its world renowned glass collection, including several pieces by Tiffany. -
Virginia Museum of Fine Art
The Virginia Museum of Fine Art, located in Richmond, just completed a major expansion and renovation. VMFA features an extensive collection that includes works from around the world. -
d'Art Center
d'Art Center gives visitors the opportunity to interact with professional artists and see them work. All the artists in d'Art Center have studio spaces that are open to the public and enjoy showing and discussing their work with visitors. -

There may not be snow outside, but you can try your hand at making virtual paper snowflakes any time of year with this online snowflake maker. This is a popular SMARTBoard activity in Mrs. Dreibelbis's class during the winter months.
